More than 1,200 teachers, doctors, care workers and policemen have been arrested across theUnited Kingdom in raids against paedophiles who had used an American internet service. Fortychildren have been taken into care because they have been abused or there are fears that they mightbe at risk from parents or professional workers. The extent of Operation Ore’s investigations,code-named Operation Ore, was explained yesterday as 250 detectives from Scotland Yard launched thebiggest series of raids in the inquiry at addresses across London.

Edward Cardinal Egan has been cleared of a charge of sexually abusing a child while a priest in Chicago more than 30 years ago. The accusation was made against the cardinal earlier this year by an unnamed man who claimed Egan molested him in 1969, but an investigation by Illionois prosecutors and Chicago’s Catholic archdiocese found the charge without substance.

A 13 year old girl was sexually assaulted by a man when she returned to her home in Long Island City from a grocery store.  The unidentified man grabbed her in the vestibule and sodomized her on Christmas Day at around 3 p.m.  The man fled.  The victim was released after treatment at Elmhurst General Hospital.

A federal judge says Richard Hobbs, a 48 year old convicted pedophile, has the right to perform as a clown for adults and children at Playland in Rye.  Manhattan federal Judge John Martin ruled that Hobbs was denied his First Amendment right to free speech when the county-owned facility told him he couldn’t perform his balloon-bending act in the park.  In 2000 he had asked Playland for a permit but his request was denied by a park official who cited a regulation that bars soliciting in all Westchester County parks.

James Taylor, 33, also known as Bishop J. Andre Taylor and Rasta Wright, a 25 year old church elder, were arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a 14 year old homeless child left in their care by a church member.  The two pastors run a Pentecostal church in Central Islip.  Taylor, of 77 Adams Road, Apt. 2-D in Central Islip, was charged with second degree sodomy and second degree sexual abuse.  Wright was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing the child when he stayed overnight’s at Taylor’s apartment sometime in

Mexican pop princess Gloria Trevi became pregnant in prison after having sex with a Brazilian federal cop. Trevi, wanted in Mexico on charges of turning teen girls into sex slaves, was held in prison in Brazil for 19 months, and was extradited on Saturday. Manuel Guillermo Trevino, 56, father of Trevi, defended his daughter in Brazil.  I advised her to defend herself, that it was totally unbelievable what they were saying and that I knew that at no moment did she ever participate in these kinds of unimaginable things, he
