COLUMBIA, S.C. (WMBF) – A judge has sentenced a Myrtle Beach man to five years in prison in connection to a child sex abuse case.

Antwon McCoy, 25, pleaded guilty on Monday to three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of dissemination of obscene material to a person under the age of 18.

Back in Dec. 2018, investigators said a social media site reported that a user had uploaded files of what appeared to child sexual abuse material.

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri — The Missouri House ethics committee formally accused a Kansas City-area lawmaker of abusing his kids and recommended his expulsion.
In a 12-page report released Monday, the half-Republican, half-Democratic panel said it had confirmed allegations that Rep. Rick Roeber, R-Lee’s Summit, sexually abused two of his young children in 1990 and physically and mentally abused all four.
The committee further said that their findings revealed Roeber as “unfit to serve as a representative in the Missouri General Assembly.”

The Archdiocese of Baltimore has suspended a Baltimore priest facing an allegation of sexual abuse involving a minor in Carroll County more than 30 years ago.
Father Martin H. Demek, pastor of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, denies the allegation and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the archdiocese.
The archdiocese received the allegation earlier this year and immediately passed the information to law enforcement. Carroll County sheriff’s deputies this week gave the diocese clearance to begin its own investigation.

A Texas teacher is accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a underage former student for nearly three years at middle school near Houston, police said.

Marka Bodine, 31, has been charged with continuous sex abuse of a child under the age of 14, court records show. The alleged abuse occurred while Bodine was a teacher at Tomball Intermediate School, which caters to fifth and sixth grade students.

The victim, now 16, reported Bodine to the Tomball Police Department on April 12.

WENATCHEE — A Wenatchee man is now charged with third-degree child rape in both Chelan and Douglas counties, stemming from the same alleged sexual misconduct with a high school student he coached in youth soccer 15 years ago.
