Anthony Bedoch, 31, of Hollywood, killed himself after his wife discovered him raping her 9-year-old daughter and called police. Bedoch was found dead in the driveway of his parents’ home around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday. He shot himself in the head with a shotgun. The death was ruled a suicide. Gerry Grant, a veteran local television newsman is charged with possessing child pornography, a felony punishable by two to ten years in prison. Grant, 41, was arrested Monday night at a local motel after he bought four sexually explicit photographs of children who appear to be between the ages of 6 and 12. He was released on $100,000 bond on Tuesday.
Twin 13-year-old brothers were arrested and charged with rape, sex abuse, burglary, robbery and assault involving a 40-year-old woman. They will be tried as juveniles. Stephen Simmons, 46, was indicted earlier this year on charges of third degree sodomy, third degree sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and five counts of possessing sexually explicit images of a child.
