COPS: PERV JANITOR ABUSED SCHOOL GIRL

Stanley Ray, 33, a janitor at a Queens public school, was charged with sodomy, sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.  On two occasions, sometime between April and June, he attacked the 8-year-old girl in the girl’s bathroom in PS 150 in Woodside, and gave her $1.  The girl did not tell anyone what happened until last month when she alerted her mom who then called police.

MAN ACCUSED OF 60s CHILD ABUSE

A Springfield man was arraigned yesterday on charges that he molested three young girls in 1964,in what is believed to be the oldest case ever brought in Fairfax County. Two women, now in theirforties, came forward last year and made the allegations against a retired mail carrier. There isno statue of limitations in Virginia.

SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY DRAWS PRAISE, CRITICISM

There is an official state registry of high-risk sexual offenders that’s now available free tothe public on the Internet at criminaljustice.state.ny.us. The site provides names, addresses,photographs, identifying characteristics and criminal histories of a very limited number ofconvicted sex offenders. Louise Roback, director of the Capital Region chapter of the New YorkCivil Liberties Union, is one of the critics who would like to see it yanked. She said, People maybe lulled into a false sense of security that they can identify all possible sex offenders. Itdoesn’t serve the interest

EX-MINISTER PLEADS GUILTY TO SEX ABUSE

James Errant, a 67-year-old Hinsdale man, recanted his earlier claims of innocence and pleaded guilty to felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse.  He hugged a family member goodbye after a court hearing and then a sheriff’s deputy escorted him to the county jail where he will serve 150 days.  A young man told Hinsdale police he had been molested decades ago as a teen and then a police probe uncovered another nine victims who also accused the one-time minister and career counselor of sexual abuse.  As part of a plea agreement,
