DAD NABS BOY’S WOULD-BE MOLESTER, COPS SAY

David Harris, 34, of Hopatcong, New Jersey, was arrested for arranging over the Internet to meet a 12-year-old Abington boy for sex.  Harris was arrested at a shopping mall after the boy’s father confronted him and a scuffled ensued.  According to APBnews.com, he was charged with criminal solicitation for involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, illegal use of a communications device, unlawful contact with a minor and corrupting the morals of a minor.  The father became concerned when his son told him he was going to the mall to meet a friend

MEGAN’S LAW GROUP WARNS: STRANGERS NOT ONLY DANGER

NEW JERSEY:  NEW MEGAN’S LAW GUIDELINES ORDERED

According to the Associated Press, the notification process for Megan’s Law has been threatened to be shut down by a federal judge if prosecutors cannot put tight controls on who receives the information.  He has ordered New Jersey to rework its sexual offender notification law.  State

Attorney General John Farmer was ordered to rewrite the law and all sex offender notifications were to stop.  It was agreed to delay the implementation so Farmer would have a chance to appeal.

DRIFTER SAYS HE KILLED 10 IN BRAZIL

Lacrete Patrocinio Orpinelli, 47, a drifter with a long history of violent behavior has been charged with sexual abuse and murder in Sao Paulo state and has confessed to killing at least 10 children over a 20 year period, police said Tuesday.  Orpinelli confessed to three murders shortly after he was arrested on January 14th in Rio Claro.  He also confessed to seven more killings and led police to the bodies.  The victims were boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 11.  He said nightmares he was having

CANADA DOCTOR VIOLATES PUBLIC TRUST

Raymond Pannell, 70, was sentenced to prison for one year for sexually abusing five youths he treated in the 1970’s and 1980’s when he was a doctor.  The prison term completed the fall from community pillar to disgraced outcast.  He lost his medical license, his reputation, his position as lay reader in church and the good will built up by a lifetime of service.
