Jack Strain, who spent two decades in St. Tammany Parish’s top law enforcement seat, will now spend his life behind bars.

Strain, 58, was on trial for two weeks amid accusations of sexually abusing multiple juveniles before and during his time as sheriff.

On Monday, he was found guilty on all eight charges he faced.

Graphic testimony was heard for nearly two weeks. Strain’s lawyers say he is innocent and added the allegations are false and do not add up.

Former Cleveland Catholic Diocese priest Robert McWilliams took his own life while serving his sentence for child sex crimes at a Pennsylvania prison.

McWilliams, 41, pleaded guilty in federal court in July to two counts of sex trafficking of a minor, three counts of sexual exploitation of a child, and one count each of transportation of child pornography, receipt and distribution of visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of child pornography.
