Reynaldo Flores, a 39 year old previously convicted sex offender, was arrested for public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.  Flores, of Middle Island, was wearing an electronic ankle band as a condition of his release after several public lewdness convictions, was charged with exposing himself to an 11 year old girl in a Border’s bookstore in Bohemia.  It was Flores’ seventh arrest for the same kind of crime.  A court order, issued July 12, 2001, that banned him from public libraries expired in 2002.  He has two

Edward C. Parker, Jr., a 78 year old Mattituck man, was arrested by Southold police early yesterday and charged with performing a sexual act on a 6 year old girl.  He was charged with criminal sexual act in the first degree, a class B felony.  He was released on his own recognizance and will be arraigned in early June.

Washington State Patrol on Monday announced that officers working on a task force investigatingchild sexual abuse had recently arrested 26 men on suspicion of crimes ranging from child rape topossession of child pornography.

The Operation Net Nanny sting was organized by the state police Missing and Exploited ChildrenTask Force. Officers working on the task force used the internet to communicate with men interestedin exploiting children. The men were arrested when they went to meet the undercover officers inperson.

Eduardo Alvarez, a 19 year old Mepham high school student, was arrested and charged with rapinga 16 year old fellow student during a party off campus at lunchtime. Kevin Cuddy, a 51 year old Commack man, is accused of trying to lure two 12 year old girls and a13 year old girl into his van as they walked down Wicks Road in Commack on April 15. Cuddy wasarrested Saturday following a three week investigation. Kevin J. O’Brien, a 34 year old North Babylon man, was arrested February 1, 2004, for allegedlysodomizing a 14 year old boy on three separate occasions. O’Brien, of Warren Street, sodomized theboy at O’Brien’s home, at a motel and at a public dock in North Babylon. On November 28, 2003,after befriending the boy, he showed him a pornographic video at his home.
