Eric McCoy, a 37 year old ex-con whose case ended up getting two Queens cops in trouble, pleaded guilty yesterday to posing as a police officer and raping two Queens women.  McCoy, of Far Rockaway, conned a 27 year old woman into thinking he was a cop and coerced her into sex on December 4.  He tried to use the ruse again on January 2 on a 15 year old he targeted but she fled and flagged down two Queens cops who did not believe her.  Both officers were suspended

David Lukas Lynch, 23, who police said had been living in an elaborate underground bunker, was arrested February 6 a few blocks from the home where an 11 year old girl was raped at knifepoint the previous day.  DNA taken from the girl cleared Lynch in the case, prompting prosecutors to ask for the charges to be dismissed.  Lynch is currently at Western State Hospital under a civil commitment that is separate from the criminal case.  On February 8, Lynch was charged with three counts of first degree child rape

Two proposed federal bills aimed at stopping registered sex offenders from using the Internet toprey on children or access child pornography would give local law enforcement officials anddistrict attorneys’ offices more tools to prevent, investigate and prosecute sex crimes. Harvey L. Holmes, III, a 42 year old Hicksville man, grabbed and groped four women and a younggirl during a half-hour spree in parking lots and convenience stores throughout the hamlet beforehe was arrested. Holmes, of 104 Dean Street, was being held yesterday in the psychiatric ward ofNassau University Medical Center in East Meadow after his arrest Saturday on charges includingsexual abuse, imprisonment, forcible touching, menacing and child endangerment. Officer Victor Ortega, a 41 year old Staten Island cop, was charged yesterday with sexually abusing a 12 year old girl who lived on his block.  He allegedly took advantage of his neighbors’ quarrel to abuse their  daughter.  After the girl’s parents separated last week, Ortega allowed the mother and girl to stay with him.  he then allegedly offered to drive the girl to her father’s home.  On the drive back he allegedly fondled her.

Jason Forgetta, a 29 year old registered sex offender, was arrested for allegedly molesting two young girls in Brooklyn and he may be linked to several more attacks.  He was charged with molesting a 15 year old in a Williamsburg alley last April and fondling a 7 year old behind a nearby apartment building last October.  Forgetta was deemed a Level 3 sex offender, the worst of the worst, after he was convicted of first degree sexual assault in May 2002.
