Linda Dingler, a 44 year old former Lincoln High School teacher and now convicted sexual offender, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to six counts of sexual misconduct. The charges stem from an affair she had with a 15 year old former student.

Here are some recent sex attacks in the city’s schools and how they were handled by authorities:
– IS 126 in Long Island City, Queens: A 13 year old girl was sexually abused in a hallway on Friday. Cops arrested a 12 year old boy yesterday.
– CS 66 in The Bronx: Two teenage boys allegedly groped two girls last month. Schools Chancellor Harold Levy fired and assistant principal and disciplined two others for failing to report the attack.

School Investigator Ed Stancik confirmed that he is investigating a May 25 incident at PS 47 in Broad Channel, where a 10 year old girl was allegedly held down and groped by two boys in the auditorium. The girls angry father pulled her and another daughter out of the Queens elementary school after charging that officials there failed to report the incident. Robert Gorghan, a convicted rapist, married the mother of the girl he sexually assaulted, in the same courthouse where, minutes earlier, he was sentenced to 25 years behind bars. He was convicted of sexually abusing, forcibly raping and sodomizing his new wife’s daughter for 13 years, starting when the girl was just 8. A 14-year-old student was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual abuse in the second degree for molesting two girls in a Queens school. The groping spree started at 9:45 am at IS 59 in Springfield Gardens when the teen grabbed a 12-year-old girl in the lunchroom and smacked her buttocks, then accosted another girl at 11:15 am by slamming the 13-year-old female to the ground and grabbing her thighs and breasts. The attackers name was withheld because of his age.

Samuel Manzie, 19, sexually assaulted and strangled 11 year old Eddie Werner on September 27th, 1997. Eddie knocked at Manzie’s door in Jackson Township, selling candy for a school fund raiser. Manzie, then 15 and deeply disturbed because he was sexually involved with a 45 year old pedophile from Long Island, raped Werner, then strangled him with an electrical cord.
