Four high school students have been arrested and charged with raping a teenage girl in the weight room of the gym at Port Sulphur High School. The girl reported to the school that the four boys raped her last Thrusday while in the weightlifting area of the school’s gymnasium, she reported the incident the next morning to the school, the incident was reported to the juvenile division of the sheriff’s office, and the arrests were made for simple rape. New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman introduced legislation that would amend the State Constitution to allow officials to post convicted sex offenders’ names on an Internet site. According to New York Times, all 50 states now have similar statutes, and 16 states list the names and addresses of paroled sexual predators on Web sites.
