Maximiliano Gonzalez, a 26 year old construction worker, was arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 7 year old girl at St. Joseph’s-St. Thomas Church Monday night. The girl was using the bathroom when Gonzalez walked in and assaulted her.

Tara Anne McDonald, a 35 year old who has a history of harassing mothers in the neighborhood and staring at children in a bizarre manner, was arrested for trying to snatch an 8 month old baby out of her stroller. The woman has a bizarre fixation on young children and a history of arrests fro kidnap attempts. The baby’s mother saved her daughter when she swung away the stroller and screamed for help as the incident unfolded shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of Clinton and Montague streets.
Jeffrey Clark, a 35 year old prison inmate described as every parent’s nightmare, was sentenced yesterday to 23 years to life for sodomizing and murdering 15 year old Sean Googin. Googin was killed after leaving his part-time dishwasher job at a Cazenovia restaurant about 11:15 p.m. on July 3, 1992. He was headed to a local park about 10 minutes away to meet his parents for Independence Day festivities. Two Long Island men, Keith Martin Jones, 22, of Copiague, and Raymond Amanosi Odidi Jr., 19, ofBrentwood, are among three sailors stationed in Washington state charged with raping a 14 year oldgirl over the July 4 holiday weekend. Steven Gold, a 52 year old Rockville Centre man, was charged in a New Jersey federal court yesterday with using the Internet to arrange a sexual encounter with a 14 year old girl who turned out to be a federal agent. Gold, who is vice president and treasurer of Manhattan-based Loeb Partners Realty, was arrested Wednesday in Somerset, NJ, and charged with travel with intent to engage in a sexual act with a juvenile.
