GOVERNOR PROPOSES TOUGHER PENALTIES FOR MURDER OF A CHILD (Tamiqua’s Law Mandates Life Without Parole for Killers of Young Children)

Pataki today announced that he has introduced legislation that would mandate life without parole as the minimum sentence for violent felons who murder a child under 15 years of age while in the process of committing a sexual offense, robbery, burglary, kidnaping or arson. KERIK FAVORS SCHOOL-SEX LAW (Says failure to report cases of abuse should be crime)

POSH PREP SCHOOL FACES MALE-RAPE INDICTMENT

A top Groton athlete and honors student, said he was frequently held down by as many as three older students at the Groton prep school, who grabbed his genitals and then digitally raped him through his boxer shorts.  A Massachusetts grand jury is weighing a possible indictment against the school over its failure to report the allegations of male student rape.  Two other male students later corroborated tales of similar alleged sexual abuse.  Groton headmaster William Polk dismissed the alleged infractions as wrestling incidents and horseplay.  He said his staff

COPS: GIRL SODOMIZED AT NEW YORK SCHOOL

Two boys, ages 10 and 11, were arrested Friday at Public School 221 in Brooklyn and charged with first degree sodomy and first degree sexual abuse against a five year old girl.  She was sodomized several times during a two day period by the boys.

MAN GETS 6 MONTHS IN SEX CASE

Donald P. Schmid, a 35 year old Bethpage man, admitted in court that he fondled his friend’s three sons ages 7, 8 and 9 when they were at his home at 9 Revere Avenue.  He pleaded guilty to sexually abusing the boys when they slept at his house in November.  He was sentence Friday to 6 months in jail and will be placed on probation for 5 years after his release.  He originally was charged with three felony counts of first degree sexual abuse for fondling each of the boys

TEACHER’S AIDE CHARGED WITH SEX ABUSE

Laurence Freeman McKisson, a 53 year old teacher’s aide, is accused of molesting nine children and logging the acts in his personal journal.  He has been charged with 21 counts of sexual abuse.  The first charges against McKisson were filed last week after a student at Edneyville Elementary School told the principal McKisson fondled him during a tutoring session.  The latest charges filed Wednesday involve a 14 year old boy who had been helping McKisson pack boxes last week at his home in Etowah.  The charges against McKisson include first
